The Montha cyclone has left large parts of Andhra Pradesh tense and sleepless, as continuous rainfall and strong winds batter several districts. While citizens are struggling through the storm, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh have been working tirelessly to monitor the situation. For the last two days, Chandrababu has stayed at the RTGS command centre in Amaravati, spending long hours from morning until late at night tracking developments. On Tuesday, he continued his work well past midnight, coordinating with district officials.
To ensure quick response and reassurance to the public, the Chief Minister deployed multiple special teams to the cyclone-hit areas. His focus has been on preventing loss of life and property by keeping officials active at the field level. Despite the heavy downpour, Chandrababu reviewed reports on road damage, breaches in canals, and overflowing lakes, maintaining constant communication with ground staff. He directed departments to use technology for damage assessment and to compile loss reports immediately. He also emphasized restoring electricity as soon as conditions improve.
Unlike routine reviews that happen after the storm, Chandrababu has been assessing the situation live during the cyclone, receiving real-time updates from ministers and district authorities. Minister Nara Lokesh has also been deeply involved in monitoring operations. He spent the entire Tuesday night at the RTGS control room and resumed reviews early Wednesday morning. Continuously receiving updates from various districts, Lokesh instructed officials to act swiftly and provide all necessary relief to affected families. Staying awake throughout the night, he tracked rainfall data, wind speeds, and local impacts to ensure prompt disaster response and safety for citizens.
