The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on several key infrastructure facilities in Iran on Tuesday. According to The Times of Israel, a total of 10 important railway lines and bridges were targeted. The attacks were reportedly aimed at preventing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from transporting weapons and military equipment from one location to another.
Prior to the strikes, Israel had issued a warning to Iranian civilians advising them to stay away from trains until the evening. Security sources indicate that the Revolutionary Guards were using these railway lines and highway bridges for the movement of weapons and military supplies. The most significant impact of the attacks was reported at the oil terminal on Kharg Island, which is responsible for exporting 80 to 90 percent of Iran’s crude oil.
Simultaneously, bridges in the Qom and Kashan regions were also targeted. Reports state that two people were killed and three others injured in an attack on the Yahyabad railway bridge near Kashan. Additionally, a highway bridge on the Tabriz–Zanjan route in northwestern Iran was also struck.
