Producer C. Kalyan Accuses Guild Members of Undermining Producers’ Council

As the Telugu Film Producers Council elections draw closer, the ‘Mana Panel’ organised a press conference in Hyderabad and outlined its plans for the producers’ community. Producer C. Kalyan, who was unanimously chosen as the panel’s president candidate, thanked the members for their support and said he had also spoken with producer Bandla Ganesh, who withdrew from the electoral contest. Kalyan accused the guild of adopting an approach that undermines the council and alleged that some members appear only during elections while failing to contribute to the council.

The panel announced several welfare measures if elected. These include increasing the producers’ medical insurance limit from ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh and extending the facility to producers who have made even a single film, with cards to be issued immediately. The panel also promised ₹30,000 or more towards the education of children of financially disadvantaged producers and ₹30,000 or more for the marriage of daughters. A pension committee for senior producers, assistance to families of deceased producers and measures to facilitate OTT business for small films through a dedicated website were also announced. Producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao said producers work tirelessly like farmers, while T. Prasanna Kumar said the nomination process was transparent and conducted according to the rules. He expressed confidence that all contestants would work together for the development of the film industry.
