

Popular video streaming platform YouTube experienced a major service disruption, leaving users across the world unable to access videos. When users attempted to open YouTube on mobile phones and computers, an error message reading “Something went wrong” appeared, causing widespread confusion. Many users also reported that videos failed to download, prompting a surge of complaints globally.
More than 300,000 users in the United States alone reported issues on DownDetector, highlighting the scale of the outage. Responding to the situation, YouTube management acknowledged receiving complaints related to streaming problems and stated that technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue. The company also confirmed receiving over 18,000 complaints from India regarding search results and videos not playing properly.
