The World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting is currently underway in Davos, Switzerland. To attend the event, former US President Donald Trump departed aboard his official aircraft, Air Force One. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft reportedly developed a technical issue, during which the lights in the press cabin briefly went out.
Acting swiftly, the flight crew took precautionary measures and diverted the aircraft back to the United States, where it made a safe landing at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, D.C. Following the incident, Trump continued his journey on another aircraft.
This is not the first such occurrence involving Trump’s travel. In 2024, one of his private aircraft experienced a technical malfunction while en route to Montana, forcing an emergency landing at Billings Airport.
