Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has made significant remarks regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz. Announcing that they intend to steer the situation in Hormuz into a new phase, he signaled that they would henceforth proceed with a more strategic and uncompromising approach. This declaration assumes particular significance as it points toward strengthening Iran's control over this strait, which is critical for global oil transportation.
It appears that tensions in the Hormuz region have not subsided, despite a two-week ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran. While making it clear that Iran does not seek war, Khamenei asserted that they would not back down when it comes to upholding their rights. He stated that they would demand compensation for the damages incurred during recent attacks and would take tough decisions to safeguard the nation's interests.
