A surprising development has emerged in Tamil Nadu politics as BJP leader K. Annamalai was not included in the party’s first list of MLA candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. Once considered the face of the BJP in the state and a prominent campaigner across South India, his absence from the list has raised eyebrows among political observers and party supporters alike.
In recent months, there were strong speculations about Annamalai’s political future, including a possible Rajya Sabha nomination and a key role in Tamil Nadu politics. However, none of these developments materialised. Reports also suggest internal differences and dissatisfaction within the party structure, which may have contributed to his current position. While he continues to remain in the BJP, his reduced visibility in electoral politics has become a talking point.
