Kalvakuntla Kavitha, chief of Telangana Rakshana Sena, visited the Kannepalli Pump House in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district and inspected the flowing Godavari water. She said around 2 TMC of water could remain available even during drought conditions. According to Kavitha, constructing a cofferdam stretching 93 metres would make it possible to lift water without depending on the Medigadda Barrage. She criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's government for allegedly neglecting the issue and urged it to take immediate action. Appealing to the government to construct the cofferdam, she warned that further steps would be considered if her demand was ignored.
Kavitha also warned that her party would not tolerate any action that harmed farmers by disrupting electricity supply or preventing water from being lifted for irrigation. She said her party would continue to fight with the government until farmers' interests were protected and promised to take measures for their welfare if the TRS government returned to power. Referring to the Kaleshwaram project, she claimed that it had created a new ayacut covering one lakh acres. She further stated that although ₹93,000 crore had been spent on the project, an additional ₹50,000 crore would be required to achieve its full irrigation potential. Kavitha criticised both the BRS and Congress, saying the drought situation had exposed their shortcomings.
