The popular Jolly LLB franchise is set to return with its fourth instalment, but Akshay Kumar will reportedly not be part of the film. According to an exclusive report by Variety India, the movie is already in production and is expected to wrap up shooting by January 2027. Arshad Warsi will reportedly lead the film, which is directed by Umesh Shukla. The upcoming instalment is said to be a prequel rather than a sequel.
Arshad Warsi first played the lawyer Jolly in the 2013 film Jolly LLB. Akshay Kumar later took on the lead role in the second and third instalments. The previous film brought both Jolly characters together in the courtroom, expanding the franchise. With the fourth instalment reportedly returning the spotlight to Warsi, fans are eager to see how the story explores the franchise’s earlier timeline. The first three films were directed by Subhash Kapoor.
