

N. Chandrababu Naidu announced in the Assembly that the government aims to complete over 10 lakh housewarming ceremonies for the poor by the end of this year. Speaking during the discussion on the Housing and Agriculture budget, he said nearly 3 lakh houses have already been completed and more beneficiaries are encouraged to apply. The government plans phased housewarmings, targeting additional completions by Ugadi, June, and September.
The Chief Minister alleged irregularities in housing and sand policies under previous regimes and assured strict legal action against those responsible. He stated that 2.20 lakh families without house sites will receive free land 2 cents in urban areas and 3 cents in rural areas. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing houses and free house sites to all eligible poor families by 2029.
