On the final day of “Naxals Mission 2026,” a major development took place in Chhattisgarh as 34 Maoists surrendered before the authorities. A significant cache of weapons, cash, and gold was also handed over. In Bijapur district alone, 25 Maoists surrendered, depositing 93 weapons along with around 7 kg of gold and ₹2.90 crore in cash.
In Dantewada, five Maoists surrendered and handed over 40 weapons, while in Sukma, two individuals surrendered with ₹10 lakh in cash and a large weapons dump. Additionally, two Maoists surrendered in Kanker district. Officials described this as a major success in the ongoing efforts to curb Naxal activities in the state.
