Most Telugu films are commercial entertainers, so audiences often look towards Tamil and Malayalam industries for fresh and different stories. Following this trend, a Tamil social drama titled “My Lord” has now quietly arrived on OTT in Telugu. Originally released in theatres on February 13, the film started streaming in Tamil earlier and is now available in Telugu and Hindi on Amazon Prime.
The movie stars Sasikumar and Chaitra Achar in lead roles and is directed by Raju Murugan. It revolves around a couple, Muthusiripi and Sushila, who are orphans working in a matchbox factory and later get married. One day, Sushila falls unconscious and is taken to the hospital, where they are told that treatment will cost a huge amount. Soon, they discover that their kidneys were stolen without their knowledge and shockingly, government records even show them as dead. At the same time, they are pressured to donate organs to a central minister.
With the help of a small-time journalist, the couple decides to fight against this injustice. The rest of the story shows how they battle the system and what happens in the end. Though the film received mixed reviews during its theatrical release, it is now gaining attention on OTT. Despite a few slow moments in the second half, the movie is said to be engaging overall and can be watched with family.
