Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that a committee, headed by the state Principal Secretary, is continuously monitoring the supply of petrol, diesel, and gas across the state. During a virtual video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other state chief ministers, the CM highlighted steps taken to ensure uninterrupted fuel distribution, including the appointment of nodal officers and committees in all 33 districts to prevent black marketing. Priority supply is being given to hospitals, schools, orphanages, and old age homes, while daily monitoring ensures adequate stock at every fuel station.
The CM also emphasized Telangana’s push toward electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, including incentives such as full exemption from road tax and registration fees for EVs. The state is actively promoting EV manufacturing and battery ecosystems, and a project in Hyderabad is underway to convert over 1.2 lakh petrol and diesel vehicles into EVs through retrofitting. The Telangana State RTC will also transition to using only electric buses in the future.
