The Central Government is reportedly planning to make KYC (Know Your Customer) verification mandatory for all social media accounts, including Instagram. This move is expected to enhance user authenticity and strengthen digital security across platforms.
If implemented, fake accounts are likely to be eliminated, significantly reducing the chances of online fraud. A parliamentary committee, under the supervision of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the IT Ministry, has been formed to draft guidelines aimed at curbing cybercrimes and ensuring safer social media usage.
