In Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, grand celebrations of Sri Rama Navami were held today (Friday) at the Ram Temple. As this marks the third Sri Rama Navami since the consecration ceremony, a large number of devotees thronged the temple. Devotees expressed their delight upon witnessing the extraordinary sight of the “Surya Tilak” appearing on Ram Lalla’s forehead. A team of ten scientists made special arrangements to ensure that sunlight from the third floor directly falls on the forehead of the idol of Lord Rama. Using advanced scientific technology, a dedicated setup was designed for this purpose.
At around 12:00 noon, sun rays measuring approximately 5.8 cm fell on Ram Lalla’s forehead, and the Surya Tilak captivated devotees for nearly 3 minutes and 50 seconds. By using specially sourced mirrors and lenses from abroad, sunlight was redirected from the third floor to fall precisely on the idol’s forehead, successfully completing the Surya Tilak event. Following this, priests performed special rituals in the temple on the occasion of Navami.
At the request of members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the team of scientists facilitated the Surya Tilak. Special arrangements have been made to ensure that the Surya Tilak appears every year at noon on Sri Rama Navami. This celebration is being regarded as one of the most grand Ram Navami festivals in Ayodhya’s history, and the Surya Tilak is believed to symbolically illuminate the aspirations of a developed India with its divine radiance. On the occasion of Sri Rama Navami, a massive influx of devotees visited Ayodhya, with thousands arriving from distant regions. The entire city resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” The district administration deployed police forces across multiple locations and implemented stringent security measures.
