The world famous Medaram Maha Jatara has commenced in Warangal district, drawing lakhs of devotees seeking the blessings of forest deities Sammakka and Saralamma. To ensure smooth conduct of the festival, the state government has undertaken extensive development works worth Rs 251 crore at the Medaram site.
As part of the rituals, Saralamma will arrive at the gaddelu from Kannepalli at 6 pm today, while Sammakka is set to arrive from Chilukalagutta tomorrow. The deities will give darshan to devotees on the 30th of this month, followed by their return to the forest on the 31st, marking the conclusion of the Maha Jatara.
