Fresh revelations have emerged about the Kurnool bus fire tragedy. The ill-fated bus, which caught fire near Ulindapadu and claimed 20 lives, had a record of 16 traffic violations and fines totaling ₹23,000.Authorities confirmed that the V Kaveri Travels bus had been repeatedly fined for over-speeding and dangerous driving, reflecting a pattern of negligence by the operators. The bus, purchased in 2018, was initially registered in Daman and Diu, and later re-registered in Odisha in 2025 — raising further questions about compliance and safety oversight.
Officials identified Vemuri Vinod Kumar as the owner of the travel company. Investigators are now probing how such a bus, with a long list of penalties, was still allowed to operate on busy intercity routes.
