Cricket fans heading to Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium for Indian Premier League matches have a reason to cheer. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), in coordination with the police department, has introduced a QR code-based entry system to ensure faster and smoother access into the stadium. In the past, fans faced long delays due to manual verification, overcrowding, and even scuffles at entry gates. There were also instances of duplicate tickets causing disputes and inconvenience for genuine ticket holders.
Under the new system, the QR code will be activated at 2:30 PM on match day, and fans can directly scan their tickets at the designated gates for quick entry. This initiative will be implemented starting from the match between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Fans who book tickets on a different phone number must share the QR code at least five hours in advance, failing which entry will not be permitted. The move aims to eliminate fraud, streamline entry, and enhance the overall match-day experience for spectators.
