Ishwari Pandey, a 17 year old visually impaired swimmer from India, has created history by becoming the first blind swimmer to cross the Palk Strait. She swam from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India, covering a distance of nearly 30 kilometers in 11 hours and 15 minutes. This remarkable achievement has brought her widespread recognition and admiration.
Hailing from Nagpur in Maharashtra, Ishwari was born blind but displayed extraordinary courage and determination to accomplish this feat. Her achievement stands as an inspiration to many, proving that physical limitations cannot stop one from reaching great heights with dedication and perseverance.
