

Hyderabad: Former Chevella MLA and Managing Director of News & Services Syndicate (NSS), Konda Lakshma Reddy, passed away at the age of 84 while undergoing treatment for age-related ailments at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, early Monday morning.A veteran Congress leader, Lakshma Reddy was the grandson of former Deputy Chief Minister Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy. He founded the NSS news agency in 1980 with a strong passion for journalism and went on to become a respected media figure in Telangana.
Throughout his career, he served as President of Jubilee Hills Journalists Cooperative Housing Society, Press Club of Hyderabad, and also held key roles like Spokesperson and Grievance Cell Chairman in the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).Lakshma Reddy also chaired the Andhra Pradesh Sports Council and contested in Lok Sabha elections (1999 & 2014) from Hyderabad, though unsuccessfully.His demise marks the end of a significant era in both politics and journalism in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
