US authorities have arrested 30 Indian nationals working as truck drivers as part of a crackdown on individuals residing illegally in the country. The arrests were made during "Operation Checkmate", conducted by Border Patrol agents in Arizona's Yuma Sector to identify undocumented individuals involved in commercial trucking activities.
According to the US Customs and Border Protection, a total of 52 people were detained during the operation, including 36 truck drivers. Among them, 30 were Indian nationals, while the others were from Mexico, El Salvador, and Russia. Authorities stated that action was taken under federal law, and the detained individuals are expected to face deportation proceedings in the coming weeks.
