The Telangana government has taken a significant step towards improving student welfare by deciding to distribute comprehensive education kits to Gurukul students. Each kit will include 24 essential items, ranging from uniforms to trunk boxes, ensuring that students have all the necessary facilities for their academic journey. This initiative will be implemented across welfare Gurukuls, hostels, model schools, and tribal educational institutions, aiming to provide equal support to students from diverse backgrounds.
The government plans to benefit nearly 5 lakh residential students through these kits, while an additional 19 lakh day scholars will receive items such as shoes, socks, and belts. The distribution is targeted to be completed before the 2026–27 academic year. The tender process has already begun with strict guidelines, including a 45-day deadline for supply completion. Authorities have warned of penalties and blacklisting in case of delays, and each item will be equipped with barcodes to ensure transparency in distribution.
