The makers of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, have unveiled a glimpse introducing Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, creating a massive buzz across social media. The video showcases Ranbir’s impressive look and a mesmerizing entry sequence into Ayodhya, leaving audiences spellbound. Sai Pallavi plays Sita in this grand epic, which is slated for a Diwali release this year. Backed by producer Namit Malhotra along with Yash, the film is being mounted on a massive scale, reportedly with a combined budget of around ₹4000 crore for both parts.
In a surprising development, reports suggest that a leading OTT platform offered nearly ₹1000 crore for the digital rights of the two-part film. However, Namit Malhotra is said to have declined the lucrative deal, choosing a bold long-term vision over immediate gains. The makers are focusing on building Ramayana into a global cinematic franchise, aiming for extensive international theatrical releases to maximize its reach and revenue. While rejecting such a huge OTT offer has shocked industry circles, it also reflects the makers’ strong confidence in the film’s worldwide potential, further amplifying expectations around the project.
