Bharti Airtel has achieved another significant milestone in the global telecommunications sector. According to statistics from GSMA Intelligence, Bharti Airtel has emerged as the world's second-largest telecom operator, boasting a subscriber base of over 650 million. Operating across both India and Africa, Airtel has recorded substantial growth in its customer base.
As of March 31, the company had 464 million customers in India alone—a figure that encompasses users availing of mobile, IoT, broadband, digital TV, and IPTV services. Additionally, the company serves over 179 million subscribers across 14 countries in Africa. While China Mobile retains the top spot globally in terms of subscriber count, Airtel has secured the second position.
