Dense fog has enveloped several parts of the country, throwing normal life into complete disarray. Visibility has dropped sharply, especially across North India, severely impacting road, rail and air transport. With barely a few metres visible ahead, people are facing significant difficulties in commuting and daily activities.
The aviation sector has been the worst hit. Owing to the fog, more than 130 flights have been cancelled, while several others are operating with major delays. Passengers at many airports are being forced to wait for hours. Morning hours are particularly affected, with severe disruptions to both landing and take-off operations.
