Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and invited him to attend the foundation stone ceremony of the Gandhi Sarovar Project, which is scheduled for the last week of February. He explained that the event will be held at the confluence of the Eisa and Musi rivers. The Chief Minister also informed him that Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed at the same location in February 1948.
The Gandhi Sarovar Project is being taken up as part of the Musi River rejuvenation initiative. The Chief Minister said that Bapu Ghat will be developed into a world-class center for education, culture, spirituality and environmental awareness. He formally requested the Defence Minister to be present at the ceremony.
