The Union Petroleum Ministry has issued important directives to streamline the LPG supply system across the country. Refineries have been instructed to increase LPG production to meet the rising demand. The ministry has also emphasized that priority should be given to domestic consumers for LPG supply. To prevent black marketing, authorities have been directed to maintain a minimum gap of 25 days between LPG cylinder bookings.
The ministry further stated that imported LPG should primarily be allocated to non-domestic sectors. Priority supply must be ensured for hospitals and educational institutions. Officials have also been asked to review the LPG supply being provided to restaurants and hotels. These measures are aimed at ensuring transparency in the LPG distribution system and preventing inconvenience to consumers.
