

Justice Lisa Gill was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The oath-taking ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan, where Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer administered the oath of office. Several judges, senior officials and public representatives attended the event. With Justice Lisa Gill assuming charge, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has a new Chief Justice.
Justice Lisa Gill hails from Chandigarh. She completed her schooling at Carmel Convent School and earned a degree in Humanities from the Government Women’s College there. She later completed her LLB and LLM from Panjab University. In 1990, she enrolled as an advocate and began practicing in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. She gained extensive experience in civil, criminal, revenue and constitutional matters. She also represented Chandigarh, along with several government boards and corporations, in various legal matters. On March 31, 2014, she was appointed as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
