TTD Board member Bhanup Prakash Reddy has warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who insult Hindu temples, deities, and traditions. He stated that certain “anti-social forces” are attempting to weaken Hinduism across the country, but emphasized that Sanatana Dharma continues to thrive strongly from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He expressed concern over the misuse of platforms like social media and YouTube to spread derogatory remarks against Hindu beliefs.
He further noted that legal recourse will be pursued against such offenders under provisions like Section 298 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with hurting religious sentiments. Referring to actor Prakash Raj, he said a ₹100 crore defamation suit has already been filed and complaints have been lodged seeking criminal action. He also mentioned that action is being prepared against certain pastors making controversial remarks online. He asserted that Hindu temples are purely religious spaces and not secular venues, adding that discussions will be held with intellectuals, retired judges, and IAS officers. He reiterated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) remains committed to protecting Hindu traditions.
