The government has delivered yet another piece of good news to the farmers of Telangana. It has released the second installment of funds under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy released the funds by pressing a button during a public meeting held in the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. Consequently, the money has begun to be credited into the farmers' bank accounts. Having released the first installment last month, the government's subsequent release of the second installment has sparked joy among the farming community.
In this installment, a sum of ₹5,563 crore is being deposited into the accounts of over 4.5 million farmers across the state. While ₹3,590 crore was distributed in the first installment, the government has announced that the third installment of funds will be released next month. The government aims to ensure that, by May, all beneficiaries receive the full amount at a rate of ₹6,000 per acre.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister asserted that it was the Congress party that took pivotal decisions benefiting farmers, such as ensuring remunerative prices for produce and providing free electricity. He further stated that substantial amounts have been deposited into the accounts of hundreds of thousands of farmers under the farm loan waiver scheme. He also revealed that the government is continuing to implement various welfare programs, such as the distribution of fine-quality rice to the underprivileged sections of the state.
