Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, as the first phase of polling in the state took place today. With the second phase scheduled for the 29th of this month, he expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would emerge victorious in the Bengal elections.
In a lighter vein, Modi remarked that sweets and the popular snack jhal muri would be distributed across Bengal on May 4 to celebrate the party’s victory. He added that he had recently tasted jhal muri, joking that while he enjoyed its spice, the real “heat” was being felt by the Trinamool Congress (TMC), drawing laughter from the crowd.
