Canva has unveiled a major upgrade to its artificial intelligence suite with the launch of Canva AI 2.0, introducing a more advanced and conversational design experience. Announced at the Canva Create 2026 event in Los Angeles, the new system brings an agentic layer that allows users to create designs using text, voice, or even rough sketches. With improved context understanding, the AI can now handle complex tasks, generate multi-channel campaigns, and assist users throughout the design process seamlessly.
The update also introduces features like Magic Layers for editable designs, a Memory Library to remember user preferences, and web research capabilities to gather and organize information. Additionally, integrations with tools like Slack, Gmail, and Google Calendar enhance workflow efficiency, while task scheduling enables automated content creation even when users are offline. Canva says the upgraded suite will roll out globally in the coming weeks, aiming to redefine how users interact with design platforms.
