The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is witnessing major political developments after seven Rajya Sabha MPs, including Raghav Chadha, resigned, pushing the party into a serious crisis. In this backdrop, party chief Arvind Kejriwal is facing a series of setbacks. Adding to the situation, Ashok Mittal, who had previously invited Kejriwal to his residence, has also resigned from the party, making the developments even more significant.
Earlier, Raghav Chadha was removed from the position of AAP’s Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha and Ashok Mittal was appointed in his place by the party leadership. However, both Chadha and Mittal exiting the party has dealt a major blow to AAP. Notably, Mittal’s resignation came just hours after Kejriwal stepped down as Delhi Chief Minister and moved out of his official residence. Previously, Kejriwal had stayed at Mittal’s residence located at 5 Ferozeshah Road. He has now shifted to a government-allotted bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi’s Lodhi Estate. Meanwhile, the party also witnessed the resignation of seven MPs, further weakening its parliamentary strength.
