Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has once again invited Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying he would be welcomed into the coalition. Speaking in Nagpur, Athawale described Dipke as an Ambedkarite and said young leaders were needed to carry forward the political legacy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He reiterated that the alliance would welcome Dipke if he chose to join, although Dipke has not accepted the invitation so far.
A similar offer was extended in August, when Dipke responded sarcastically, recalling that some people who had labelled him “anti-national” were now inviting him to join their alliance. Dipke has also said he does not intend to contest elections at present. Instead, he wants CJP to operate as a pressure group, highlighting public concerns and advocating on social and political issues. Whether he will reconsider Athawale’s latest invitation remains uncertain.
