The Central Government has sought 12 hours for discussion on three key legislative bills introduced in the Lok Sabha. It has been announced that voting on these bills will take place tomorrow at 4 PM in the Lok Sabha. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the implementation of women’s reservation would require two constitutional amendments. A detailed discussion on the matter is expected in the House.
Meanwhile, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has termed it unfair to link the women’s reservation bill with the delimitation proposal. On the other hand, K. C. Venugopal criticized the move, alleging that the bills were introduced for electoral gains. The Rajya Sabha is scheduled to take up discussion on these bills the day after tomorrow, with 10 hours allocated for the debate.
