Tragic Road Accident in Kurnool District... Prime Minister Announces Compensation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident near Mantralayam in Kurnool district. He announced an ex gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences through his official X account.

The accident occurred when a Bolero vehicle carrying devotees from Karnataka, heading to visit Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple, collided with an oncoming tanker. Eight people lost their lives, while 13 others were injured. Five victims died on the spot, and three succumbed to injuries in hospital. The injured were shifted to Emmiganur Government Hospital, with some later moved to Kurnool District Hospital. District Collector Siri visited the injured, stating that a few remain in critical condition.
