Chennai Super Kings, who are back in form with two consecutive wins after three straight losses in IPL 2026, are now facing a new concern. Fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed, who was injured during the recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders, may miss the next game. This has created fresh tension for the team as they aim to continue their winning run.
Khaleel suffered a thigh muscle injury and struggled to complete his spell in the last match. He found it difficult to bowl his final delivery and had to leave the field midway. The remaining ball of his over was completed by another bowler as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad managed the situation. Reports suggest that Khaleel has not fully recovered yet and may not be fit in time for the upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Doctors have advised Khaleel to take rest for a few days, making his availability uncertain. With MS Dhoni also still recovering from a side strain, injuries are becoming a concern for CSK. Experts believe that if Khaleel misses the next match, it could be a setback for the team. The management is likely to avoid taking risks with his fitness, keeping long-term performance in mind.
