The comments made by YS Jagan regarding the ‘Mavigan’ region have drawn a strong reaction from Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju. He clarified that the area referred to as ‘Mavigan’ is already within the CRDA limits. According to him, there is no need to create confusion by giving it a new name.
He further criticized Jagan, saying that the ‘Mavigan’ idea came as a response to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu describing Amaravati as the “capital of gods”. Raghurama Krishna Raju suggested that such proposals are being made only to counter political statements rather than for development.
He also made a sharp remark, stating that those who do not like references to gods are sometimes called demons. He added that if the term “capital of gods” is avoided, Jagan might stop coming up with new names like ‘Mavigan’, taking a dig at the political narrative.
