The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation employees have received a major relief as the Andhra Pradesh government decided to release SRBS funds. A total of ₹75 crore has been sanctioned for around 8,450 employees who are set to retire by May 2030. This move aims to provide financial support to employees who had contributed to the SRBS scheme for their post-retirement security.
The SRBS scheme was earlier introduced to help employees save monthly for pension benefits after retirement. However, it was discontinued following the merger of APSRTC with the state government under the previous administration. Responding to repeated requests from employees to release their saved funds, the government has now taken steps to ensure the payments are made, bringing much-needed relief to the workforce.
