Vijay launched the manifesto of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The manifesto focuses on welfare schemes, especially for women and farmers. The manifesto further highlights major benefits for farmers and self help groups. Farmers owning less than five acres of land will receive a complete loan waiver, while those with more than five acres will get a 50% waiver. Additionally, self help groups will be provided interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh. To reduce school dropouts, mothers of students will receive ₹15,000 annually, and each family will be given six free gas cylinders per year.
