India continues efforts to rescue citizens trapped in cyber-crime networks in Myanmar. In the latest operation, the central government brought back 370 people to New Delhi using three special flights. Of them, 55 are from Andhra Pradesh, mostly from Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam regions.
AP Bhavan officials coordinated with the Centre, shifted the rescued individuals to the AP Bhavan facility, and arranged immediate accommodation and food. Since their phones were seized in Myanmar and they had no money, the AP government provided Rs.1,000 to each person to support their onward travel. Railway arrangements were also made for their safe return home.
With this, a total of 79 people from Andhra Pradesh have been safely repatriated and sent back to their hometowns. The rescued citizens expressed gratitude to both the central and state governments.
