Long Weekend Shock - Are these the consecutive days when banks will be closed in June?

June has arrived with summer vacations, but bank customers should be aware that banks across India will remain closed for a total of 11 days during June 2026 due to weekends and regional holidays. As per the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed on all Sundays (June 7, 14, 21, and 28) and on the second and fourth Saturdays (June 13 and 27). These six holidays will be observed nationwide, and bank branches will not provide services on these days.

In addition, several regional holidays will affect banking operations in specific states. Banks in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar will remain closed on June 15 due to local festivals, while banks in Andhra Pradesh will observe a holiday on June 25 for Muharram. Major cities including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata will also witness bank closures on June 26 for Muharram. Customers are advised to complete urgent banking work in advance, especially as June 26, 27, and 28 create a three-day long weekend in many regions. However, digital banking services, ATMs, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, and mobile payment platforms will continue to operate without interruption.
