South Central Railway GM Reviews Safety of Train Operations

South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava held a comprehensive review meeting on the safety of train operations at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. Additional General Manager Satya Prakash and heads of various departments attended the meeting, while the Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions participated through video conferencing. The General Manager reviewed the night inspections conducted by officials during the month and instructed them to take immediate corrective measures wherever deficiencies were identified.

Srivastava emphasised strict adherence to safety guidelines, particularly by field and contract staff working near Overhead Equipment (OHE) and electrical installations. He stressed the importance of workplace safety, effective coordination between departments and regular counselling of personnel. He also directed officials to conduct refresher courses regularly to keep staff updated on safety standards, rules and maintenance procedures. The status of CCTV installation at stations, trains, goods sheds and non-interlocked level crossing gates was reviewed, along with various ongoing works across the zone. Officials were instructed to accelerate these projects and complete them within the stipulated timelines.
