In a relief to farmers, the government has released ₹44.06 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for timely implementation of crop insurance during the ongoing Rabi season. According to the orders issued on Monday, the released amount represents 50% of the advance premium subsidy to be credited into the escrow account. Officials said this will ensure that the crop insurance process is completed on schedule, providing much-needed support to farmers.
Meanwhile, Y. Srinivasa Rao, who has been serving as Executive Engineer in the Vijayawada Marketing Department, has been given a temporary promotion. He has been appointed as Superintendent in the Guntur Directorate of Marketing under the Central Market Fund Service, as per the latest orders.
Authorities expressed confidence that these steps will benefit both farmers and the agricultural marketing system in the state.
