Actress and director-producer Varalakshmi Sarathkumar has denied the comments made by writer Burra Sai Madhav on the story of the film 'Saraswathi'. She said that she took only the line from the story given by him and wrote the rest of the story herself and created the screenplay. She said that the story was taken only after completing all the formalities, but still, his name was given as a credit in the film as a mark of respect. Varalakshmi is playing the lead role in this film, which she directed herself and produced with her sister Pooja Sarathkumar.
Speaking at a thank you meet held in Hyderabad recently on the occasion of the film's release, Varalakshmi said that many people had suggested that there was a lag in the story written by Sai Madhav and that she had told him in advance to change the climax. However, he said that he was not available for story sittings as he was busy with other big projects. He explained that he made changes to the story, especially the climax, keeping the audience in mind. However, he said that the story credit was given to him, but it is not right to accuse him of stealing the story. Varalakshmi said that she is happy that the film ‘Saraswathy’ is getting a good response from the audience, especially the audience is surprised by the climax.
