Talented actress Sobhita Dhulipala is ready to explore a different side of her acting abilities with stories that allow her to portray diverse characters. She is playing a key role in the upcoming Tamil film ‘Vettuvam’, directed by renowned filmmaker Pa. Ranjith. Unlike many of her previous characters, who often suppressed their emotions out of fear of society and kept their pain to themselves, Sobhita’s character in this film is expected to be bold, free-spirited and fearless. Speaking at a recent event, the actress shared interesting insights into the roles she has played in the past. Citing her character Tara from the web series ‘Made in Heaven’ as an example, she explained that Tara’s circumstances often prevented her from expressing her anger openly, forcing her to keep her emotions bottled up. Sobhita added that many of her previous roles involved controlling emotions because of concerns about how society might perceive them.
Sobhita said that playing Radhi in ‘Vettuvam’ has been a completely different experience. She revealed that she had long been waiting for a powerful character who could express herself freely without fear, and she feels that this film has fulfilled that desire. The actress said she had been eager to take on roles of this kind. She also described the film as an unusual cinematic experience, featuring an end-of-the-world backdrop, conflicts between families and martial arts. According to Sobhita, the film will introduce audiences to a world unlike anything they have seen before in Indian cinema. She added that the martial arts sequences particularly surprised her and are among the distinctive elements that make the film stand out.
