Rajahmundry Municipal Commissioner Rahul Meena has directed civic officials to take immediate measures to minimise disruptions caused by the cyclone. On Wednesday morning, he inspected several locations, including Hitech Bus Stand and Narayanapuram, and reviewed the arrangements to prevent inconvenience to residents. He instructed officials to promptly remove water from roads using pumps and ensure that fallen trees were cleared without delay.
Officials informed the commissioner that around 20 trees that had fallen due to heavy rain and strong winds had been removed since Tuesday evening with the help of staff and cranes. As strong winds could cause more trees to fall, he directed teams to remain ready with the necessary machinery and personnel to clear roads quickly and prevent traffic disruptions. He also stressed the need to continue sanitation work without interruption.
The commissioner asked residents to report any problems to the authorities and urged them to remain cautious until the cyclone weakens. He advised the public to follow official instructions and weather warnings. Later, he monitored the situation from the command control room at the municipal office.
