The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has temporarily suspended the issue of free Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens meant for the next day's darshan due to an unexpected surge in pilgrim turnout at Tirumala. Officials said the queue complexes and compartments on the hill are already full, prompting the decision to regulate the crowd. They clarified that SSD token distribution for Friday's darshan will continue as scheduled on Thursday.
This is the fourth time in a month that SSD token issuance has been halted without prior notice, causing inconvenience to pilgrims arriving from distant places. Many devotees returned disappointed after reaching the counters. Similarly, Divya Darshan tokens issued on the footpath route were exhausted within an hour, leaving thousands without tokens. Officials attributed the situation to the sharp increase in pilgrim arrivals.
