Flood Fury in Northeast States

Heavy rains continue to affect several northeastern states, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Jammu, causing fatalities and widespread disruption. At least six people lost their lives in rain-related incidents, while floods damaged railway tracks, agricultural land, and public infrastructure. In Himachal Pradesh, a cloudburst washed away six houses, though no casualties were reported. Landslides also forced the closure of the old Hindustan–Tibet National Highway.

In Assam, the flood death toll has risen to 11, with the Brahmaputra, Dikhow, Desang, and Dhansiri rivers flowing above danger levels. Nearly 3.10 lakh people across 758 villages have been affected. In Nagaland, the death toll from rain, floods, and landslides has reached nine. Meanwhile, the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand resumed on Tuesday after weather conditions improved.
