Heavy rainfall has been battering Tamil Nadu, with the state capital Chennai experiencing continuous downpours since last night. Several parts of the city, including Saligramam, T. Nagar, Valasaravakkam and Guindy, have been inundated by rainwater. Waterlogging has affected roads and disrupted normal life, causing inconvenience to residents and commuters.
Amid the heavy rains, educational institutions have been declared closed in five districts: Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu and Ranipet. Continuous rainfall has raised concerns about waterlogging in low-lying areas, prompting residents to remain cautious. Commuters are also advised to exercise care while travelling through waterlogged roads.
